In this week’s ‘Partner Spotlight’ we are highlighting our partner, Prince Inglis. Prince has been a close friend of Gret’s from his Malawi days. In this blog you will get to hear all the inspiring work he is doing for The DonorSee Foundation in Malawi.
Tell us a little about you. What kind of work do you do? What inspires you to keep going?
I work in the remotest areas of Malawi connecting the needy with our generous donors on DonorSee. We have helped the sick to go to the hospital, drop outs to get back to school, we have empowered the widows and single mothers by helping them start businesses or by giving them livestock.
When I help someone and see his or her life changed or see someone smiling for the first time, it leaves me with no choice but to help more people.
Tell us about one amazing project you fundraised for on DonorSee this year.
We helped raise funds for Baby Alefa. She was a 6 day old baby who lost her mother in childbirth. She was surviving only on warm water and she was on the verge of death. She needed formula. When we posted the project we weren’t sure if we were going to get the funds in time. Then, 12 donors came together in 11 days and over-funded the project. It was amazing. Now Baby Alefa is happy and healthy.
What are the key challenges you face?
Transportation is a key challenge in our daily operations. We struggle a lot to get to the remotest places. Our aim is to reach the unreached places where the poorest people are. Sometimes we use ways that are life threatening to go to these places. We are currently raising money to buy a vehicle so that we will be able to conquer this challenge, and help more people. People can help us raise the funds for this vehicle by visiting this page.
What are your hopes and dreams for next year?
We would like toWe would like to start a clinic. We want to help a lot of people, especially children under the age of 5, to have access to health care. We want to have a clinic close to the people in the village for easy access.
Do you have a message for the DonorSee community?
We have never met in person but your support is overwhelming. Your kind donations have made a lot of impact, even more than we get to show in the videos. God bless you for supporting us constantly.
Make sure you take some time to check out Prince’s projects and consider giving to one to impact a life today.
